CAN MY CHILD attend?

LHMS accepts children between the ages of 3 years and 6 years, as long as they appear to be intellectually and emotionally mature enough to benefit from the school environment.  All children need to be fully potty trained. LHMS accepts students regardless of race, color, creed, sex, or national origin.


Where are you located?

We are on the East side of Lake Harriet at 915 West 45th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55419. You can find LHMS contact info here

 

Are you open year round? What are the hours of operation?

Yes, LHMS is a year round program. We are open from 7:30am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday.


Do you offer a half day program? Do you offer three or four day options?

We do offer half day options: morning 7:30am-1:00pm. The minimum for the half day program is four days a week.

Students who attend the full day program (7:30am-5:30pm) must sign up for a minimum of three full days a week.


What is the tuition?

Tuition amounts currently in effect are as follows (subject to change):

  • Full time: $255 per week

  • Full day: $58.50 per day (3 days of attendance required per week)

  • Half day: $36.70 per half day AM or PM slot (4 days of attendance required per week)

Please note that in September each year, our tuition will increase by 2%.


How does enrollment work?

Families interested in enrolling at LHMS are invited to schedule a tour/observation visit with the director. Parents that wish to enroll their children may contact the director to inquire about availability, and an enrollment packet will be sent to you.


Does my child need to pack a lunch? What about snacks?

Students bring a home-packed lunch and two snacks. Lunch bag must include an icepack. Milk and water is provided at lunch time. LHMS has snacks on hand for children who need them. Specific dietary requests are honored, please speak with the director for details.


Does my child need to be toilet trained before enrolling?

Yes, we ask that all new students be fully toilet trained. However often a child will have accidents when in a new environment, so please bring an extra set of clothes for your child with you on your child’s first day.


what should my child bring on their first day?

Extra clothes:

  • 4 pairs of underwear

  • 3 pairs of pants

  • 2 shirts

  • 3 pairs of socks

  • 1 extra pair of shoes (optional)

Reusable tote bag with a blanket and/or stuffed animal to use during rest time

Chapstick

Sunscreen

Lunchbox with a morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack (no water bottles necessary)

Framed family photo (the kids love to do their classroom work next to a photo of their family!)
